If it is good enough for Tom Hanks, it is good enough for all of us! The Smith Corona Clipper is the machine claimed as favorite by Mr. Hanks and after typing on it, you will understand why! Post war, Americans were typing more than ever and needed faster, lighter, machines that could be used anywhere. The Clipper may not have been able to run a mile in less than four minutes like Roger Bannister did that year, but it could have been used to edit the script changes for America's favorite TV Show, I Love Lucy. The Clipper is a smaller version of the Smith Corona Standard but lacks the Tab feature. Who knows where this machine could have traveled. Perhaps even to the courthouse to type up the marriage certificate for Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio! No wonder Mr. Hanks like it!
