From musicians to screen writers — story writers to novelists: everybody who writes has reason to use a typewriter.
We are writers and authors – and like you – love to use typewriters in our writing process. As time has gone by there has been a need in our community for a full service shop for manual typewriters. So here we are reconditioning, resurrecting, and everything else in-between to keep our beloved typewriters clicking and clacking away. Whatever your machine may need, we can do it.
Our shop and showroom is located in the historic district of Riverside California. 1960 Chicago Ave. We usually have over 50 Muse Certified machines ready for you to take home or we can ship your new-to-you machine to your doorstep.
Our bespoke services are tailored to your needs. You are welcome to visit us in person or virtually.
A Note on Anonymity: We have many friends and customers in many industries whose names are well known. We understand the need for personalized service that respects your privacy with the upmost discretion. We are interested in your machine, not your career. We can use an alias in the service of your machine, do not share your information unless you wish us to and we have a very strict non-disclosure policy.
From ribbon replacements to full reconditioning: we do that. Most machines today have not been typed on in 20 years. They need wet chemical cleaning, tuning, lubrication, new rubber and some good ole’ tender loving care to get them typing again for you. Our full service shop can do all of that, usually in just a few short weeks.
Our shop rate is $84.00 an hour plus parts and materials. We will give you a free estimate while you wait at your appointment when you drop your machines off for service.
Yes, we offer a 3-way shipping service for your convenience. Wherever you might be located, we will ship you an empty box custom made for your typewriter. Instructions will be included on how to pack it then, you affix the return label provided and drop it off at your nearest FedEx or UPS shipping center, no need to wait in line. Then we ship it back to you when your typewriter service is complete. This service costs less than shipping the machine directly to us from a shipping center. Please call us to set up this service. Note: our shipping address is different from our location address.
